“Always telling the truth is the most important consideration in any relationship”

Humans need to have any kind of relationship to be called as a human, and in any relationship, people limit showing every part of their privacy. Why? Humans have faults with them and they think if they show their faults, the relationship will break. So, what is the best way? Do we tell the truth or not?

           When we always tell truth, we don’t have any privacy left with us. This makes us to lose our identity. When we lose our identity, it is really hard to live as a good person, because everybody will think that I’m a hypocrite. Everybody knows what I will do next, so it will be hard for me to start something. Humans are cunning creatures whom use others for their own good. If they know every part of me, they will use my information to do bad things like stealing and selling me to kidnapper.    

           Also, not telling truth can be a good tactic when the person has bad personal background. Nobody will want to become friend with former gangster or former criminal. People will fear the person and never go close to the person because they think the person will do the same to them.

           We also need white lies. White lies are lies that are done to protect somebody from danger. We often times use white lies to protect friends, but you also can use it to make others feel good. Even though if you think the person is not good at English, if you encourage them and say “you are good”, they will feel good and will want to be friend with you. We also tell white lies to not insult somebody even thought you feel bad.

           Nowadays, number of incidents was caused by telling truth to others. Telling truth can be a good thing to strengthen the relationship, but if it is returned with cajolement, you will have trouble.

1. Write a definition of the word indoctrinate. How does it differ from the word 

educate? How did Hitler try to indoctrinate young Germans? What should the

goals of education be? 

A: Definition of indoctrinate is teach someone or a group  systematically to accept doctrines. Doctrines are set of principles or beliefs. This differs with the word educate in many ways. First,  If people are indoctrinated, they are taught a particular belief with the aim that they will reject other beliefs. In education, they teach you for critical thinking and things that you can think of to learn as a question. Hitler tried to indoctrinate young Germans using good speech.  He first made the country powerful, economically and also in military. He then said to people that Jews are bad because we are superior than them.  That's why in the movie, Young Germans became some how like a slave because woman became prostitutes and young men became workers. They also killed people who can not work. People believed in him and was indoctrinated with his ideas. The goals of education should be to help others and also yourself. For example, you study to get in to good university, and you again study for your future job. You work to earn money. 

2. Why is it important that a child be taught to conform? To obey? What is the 

difference between obedience and blind obedience? What arguments would 

you use to convince a young Nazi that obeying is not always the right thing to 

do?

               It is important that child should be taught to conform and obey. For example, If your child runs towards a traffic, how important is it that they STOP just because you said STOP? Obedience is a must because this makes your life easy. Any country has a rule to obey, and if you don't obey the rules, you will have to pay compensation, go to 

the prison or in worse case, you will find yourself hurt after you didn't obey the rules. 

           Obedience and Blind Obedience is a really different thing. Obedience is a action 

that is following what someone is saying to do(you have a choice to do or not to do), but Blind obedience is obeying everything the other person says(no choice). Blind obedience happens for example when the high rank Nazi guy was shooting people if they don't work, so everybody will work hard to not die.  

           To convince a young Nazi we have to first show what is right and what will happen
 to the world if the world is without Nazi. We also have to tell them that they are getting 
brain washed by the Nazi. We also go to them with peace and love, so that they know we care about them and we are here to help them. 

Last Week

Last week, there were a lot of long tests and quiz. We had long test in Science, English, Math and Social Science. Why all together? ㅠㅠ The grades I got was good except English. I didn't study hard for English because I was cramming with a lot of things. Also Today, I think I have to cram,,,,, I have to do my SS homework, Science homework, English homework. I also have to study for my English quizzes. I am now thinking should I do the extra credit work or not....,. I have to also prepare for my upcoming final exam and aksi portfolio for Math and English. ahahahahah.......... ok Now I will tell what I have to do until vacation.

Upcoming Week

         

















  This coming week will be a disaster because it has a lot of long tests and projects. Long test is really tiring to take because it's long,,,,,,, Science, Math,English and SS have long test and also we have to submit our mandarin and SS project.,,,,, I think I am good at cramming, but I think this cram will not be easy. ㅠㅠㅠㅠ I think 4th quarter is really short and can be easy to get grade but also has high possibility to get low grade because one test affects our grade a lot. Next Next week is our final exam and I should start studying from now on. I am thinking that I should study now for my subjects and just review what I studied everyday to not forget. I think I also have to make my condition good because I am having a headache now because of lack of sleep(:))))))  I think Chemistry teacher is ok but I think the subject itself needs a lot of time to study and reason why we are not doing well in chemistry is because we don't study. Honestly I rarely study for my chemisty tests because I don't know what to study. I will try to study hard for chemistry and also SS because there will be a lot of memorization. I think I should solve a lot of exercises by myself in studying for chemistry and math. Now, I will study for my science and SS long test tomorrow.

Jazz

            I take cello lesson every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday. I started playing cello as a kid and I was forced to do it because my mother was Violinist. Nowadays, something really came to help my nothingness to my music life. That is called Jazz. First, My father told me to learn guitar because I wanted to learn it because it was cool. When I was learning, I met a lot kind of music. Something that came to my heart was jazz. It touched my heart and I wanted to do it. That time, I was doing clarinet in Brent and I wanted to change my instrument because I began to like jazz. That's why I started learning Contrabass. I impressed other with my Contrabass, so people suggested that I should play Bass guitar. I learned it and join the band. The name of the band was Jazz Holic. The Band Included Bass, First Guitar, Second Guitar, Saxophone Vocal and Keyboard. The vocalist had really unique voice and I liked her voice. From then on, I loveeeeee Jazz. When improvising a song, you get to feel the music. But something happened today. I take cello lessen and I decided to quit cello because I really don't like it as my hobby(It looks cool but it's not cool:( My father told this to my teacher and the teacher taught me with kind of dissapointeness. After the lessen, my father and my teacher wanted me to continue learning it because they said it will be helpful in my future. I disagreed them saying that I should have a right to choose my type of music because they said Jazz is music is music that is only played in Bar. I was disappointed but I told my father I can't continue something that I don't like and he said OK. I really want to continue doing Jazz. I want to introduce my favorite jazz songs.

Prom

It was my first time participating a prom and I felt a lot of things. First, I went there with little expectation, but I was really surprised with quality of food and facility it provided. The Hotel itself was kind of luxury hotel and I enjoyed the food that they gave us . The setting  of mic and every system was nice. Another thing I enjoyed was the songs they played. The shows they performed was not really good but it was above my expectation. I didn't know the prom was this big and nice, so next year I want to perform something and have fun there. Also, I wish next year will have more people participating and coming to the party, Like not going in the middle of the show:) And I wish I hear more romantic songs not rock songs. Like this one

Malcolm X

               Today, I watched the movie called "Malcolm X". First, I watched it in English but it was hard to understand them, so I downloaded Korean subtitle and watched the movie. I found the movie interesting because the movie was about raacism. The movie seem tragic because Malcom died from his preacher. The Muhammad guy was really bad because he betrayed malcom. In this movie I learned the behavior of human due to him. The movie was easy to understand and I learned a lot from it. I also learned things that white did to black in 20 century. But what bad thing about this movie is that it is 3 hours long ㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠ. I almost slept during some parts, but at last I enjoyed the movie.
             I will tell you the basic summary. Starts with Malcolm making his hair straight to look like white. He goes to a club and meets white woman and have an appointment :) But later, He and his friend and white woman was caught doing a robbery and they go to prison. The two black boys are sent to jail for 8years and the others stayed for a year. After coming out, he decides to work for muhammad and be a agitator for black movement. He works hard but his fame made muhammad to use it and he felt betrayed. He still works hard being an agitator but he was shot by muhammad later.
